Fountain's Den is a traditional mid-terraced cottage, located a short walk from the centre of Aviemore and all its facilities. Fountain's Den was built at the turn of the last century and is one of the oldest buildings still remaining in Aviemore.
Originally built to house railway workers, it has undergone a series of modernizing upgrades and now comprises three bedrooms, a spacious living room with a pined dining area, a bathroom and a separate shower room.
Outside there is a private garden and barbeque area. There is oil central heating throughout the cottage as well as a log/coal burning stove in the living room. The real fire creates a comfortable atmosphere and offers great cosy nights in with a Speyside whisky or a bottle of fine wine!
The living room is furnished to a very high standard with two very comfortable sofas, a lovely fire place, television, video and a music stereo. There are full length French windows which open up onto the private garden and patio area. The garden backs onto the railway where trains occasionally trundle past and the traditional steam train rolls slowly by during the summer months. The pined dining area with a dining table and chairs and a dimming lamp offers scope for romantic dining.
There are three bedrooms upstairs. Two with double beds and one with a single. Both double rooms offer fantastic views – one with a panoramic view of the Cairngorm mountain range and one of Craigellachie nature reserve behind Aviemore. Bed linen and towels are included.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer as well as a full set of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and cooking utensils. There is even a bread maker for the budding baker!
The newly refurbished shower-room has an electric power shower, a WC and a sink. The bathroom also has a shower fitting above the bath, along with a WC and sink.
